What you’ll be doing:
As our Accounting Associate you will be responsible for coordinating data entry into our accounting system and providing weekly and monthly reports to the team. We’re looking for an individual with some practical accounting experience, who’s a great team player, eager to learn & to contribute, and has exceptional communication skills. This role will also have frequent communication with our internal teams and external customers, so a friendly, positive demeanour is important.
Main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Weekly invoice and payment processing
- Weekly internal reporting
- Conduct weekly review and reconciliation of a variety of accounts
- Regular physical inventory counts and reconciliation
- Monthly accounting journal entry preparation
- Monthly account reviews, reconciliations and reporting
- Regular bank and credit card reconciliations
- Additional support for the Accounting team
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Able to legally work in Canada
- Accounting experience
- Experience with cloud-based accounting software & systems is preferred (e.g. Xero, Dext, Shopify)
- Experience in a customer service environment
- Data entry / data processing experience
- Intermediate – advanced Office 365 Skills (especially MS Excel)
- Education or coursework in accounting or finance considered a strong asset
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Understanding of data security and confidentiality
- Exceptional communication skills
- Self-Motivated, curious and highly organized
This is a full-time, permanent role and is approximately 40 hours per week Monday-Friday during business hours. We offer a competitive compensation package, including dental, medical and lifestyle benefits, as well as great perks such as a merchandise allowance.
