The Fellaship Men’s Group Counselling Facilitator is responsible for leading and facilitating weekly group counselling sessions for adult men in the Elk Valley. This program focuses on promoting mental wellness, fostering healthy relationships, and providing non-judgmental peer support in an inclusive and welcoming environment. The facilitator will guide a structured sharing circle and support participants through discussions, ensuring a safe and supportive space for men of all ages, backgrounds, and identities.
Key responsibilities include fostering an atmosphere of respect, encouraging open dialogue, managing group dynamics, and offering emotional and logistical support as needed. The Facilitator will also collaborate with community partners to ensure the program meets the diverse needs of participants and continues to promote mental health and well-being in the community.

Work Hours: Part time, every other Monday evening from 5:30-8:30. Working weekly to start for training
Salary: based on experience, range between $32-35/hour
Location: Based out of beautiful Fernie BC, providing support to men in the Ktunaxa ʔamakʔis also known as the Elk Valley and South Country. The region boasts some of the most spectacular mountain vistas, with world class adventures for everyone including: skiing, snowboarding, snow shoeing, cross country skiing, hiking, mountain biking hunting, fly fishing, boating, art and culture.
Preferred qualifications:
- Relevant Master’s degree (Social Work, Psychology, Child and Youth Care, Counselling Psychology) preferred
- At least 2 years relevant group counselling experience preferred
- Registration with a regulatory body preferred, does not need to be BC based registration.
- Ability to work with men within a client-centred, strength-based approach.
- Emergency first aid with CPR B.
- Criminal Record Check
Job Responsibilities:
- Set-up and tear down space for group counselling including picking up food and other supplies, setting up the space, and cleaning up
- Provide group counselling to adult men in a client-centred, strength-based way
- Approach group counselling from a culture-infused, anti-oppression perspective
- Provide crisis intervention services when necessary
- Collate statistics and provide reports on service delivery
- Consult/liaise with Columbia Basin Family Resource Society staff as necessary
- Consult/liaise with community agencies, schools, and hospitals as necessary
