The Joan Delich Kindergym Society is a not-for-profit organization which provides a physical recreation, music and movement creativity program for toddlers.
Kindergym Fernie is looking for a part-time facilitator to run a parent/caregiver supervised program for 9m-5 year olds at the Fernie Family Centre.
Key Accountabilities:
- Seeking an independent contractor with an enthusiastic and vibrant attitude who enjoys being around young children.
- ECE Certificate and Basic First Aid training would be an asset but not necessary
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check is essential.
- Ability to bring your young child to work with you.
Requirements:
- Facilitation is required for two programs per week (days to be determined based on facilitator’s availability), programs typically runs from 10-11:30am.
- Approx timeframe including set-up/clean-up including program duration is 2hr35mins
- Remuneration is $82 per session, plus compensation for planning sessions.
Responsibilities:
- The contractor will be responsible for setting-up and packing down kindergym equipment in the hall at Fernie Family Centre
- Welcoming and registering participants
- Providing leadership and high energy interactions with children/families
- Coordination for the 9m-5 year old parent/caregiver supervised program
- Performing simple administrative and cleaning tasks
- Promote fundraising opportunities
What to expect:
- Position begins mid-late September 2024 and runs till beginning of June 2025
- Kindergym programs do not run on Statutory holidays and close during winter and spring break
- Physically able to maneuver kids’ gym equipment involving lifting, reaching & bending including some heavy items (approx 50lbs) in a timely manner.
- A supportive board who will encourage you and allow independence to apply your creativity and flare to each program.
