The Park Place Lodge is currently seeking a full-time enthusiastic, friendly, and motivated individual to manage our Spirits Cold Beer & Wine Store. The Retail Store Supervisor will manage the daily operations of their assigned department. This position requires both leadership and merchandising skills to manage product levels and make sound business decisions. In addition, this position is responsible for increasing guest confidence and loyalty by promoting and executing consistent operating conditions, providing courteous, knowledgeable and prompt service and a friendly atmosphere in the department.
Must be available to work WEEKENDS.
The duties of this position include but not limited to:
· Leading all aspects of the Spirits, Beer & Wine Shop as a BCLDB Licenced Retail Store
· Staff relationships – training, supervise in accordance with company policies and procedures.
· Ensure department staff greet, assist, provide efficient service and thank guests in a prompt, courteous, friendly and business-like manner in order to promote the company image as a service-oriented operation.
· Manage inventory, in-stock position, pricing integrity, merchandising, labor, security, expense control and other operational processes to company standards.
· Verify goods received are consistent with vendor’s invoice and product order; reconcile discrepancies; process invoice for payment.
· Verify the count and description of the merchandise on credit invoices for all merchandise being removed by vendors.
· Develop relationships with representatives of supply companies
· Develop strong knowledge of all products sold in the store.
· Weekly and monthly inventories
· Assessment of daily and monthly sales and expenses
· Ensuring hotel policy and procedures are being followed, including Liquor, Lottery and Labour Laws
· Ensuring daily duties are being performed and checklists are being used
· Being prepared in case of an emergency – taking a leadership role during any emergency that may arise
· Coordinating the transfer of clear and concise information on promotions and events to all hotel departments
· Ensure the department is well maintained and meets or exceeds company standards for appearance. – Being aware of and reporting any items for maintenance
· Leading by example – perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Our ideal candidate for this position will:
· Have a valid BC Serving It Right Certificate
· Have previous Assistant Manager or Manager experience *minimum 1 year experience
· Have strong organizational skills
· Be self motivated with a positive attitude and demeanor
· Be Proficient with computer systems used to effectively operate the department
· Be willing to maintain and build product knowledge
· Be able to work unsupervised and as part of a team
· Be comfortable working under pressure and through periods of high customer demand
· Already have authorization to work in Canada
