What you’ll be doing:
As our Marketing Manager, you will oversee FBC’s Marketing Department, leading all marketing projects, branding, and design work.
This position requires an expert communicator with sound knowledge of website maintenance, search engine optimization, and running social media campaigns. The successful candidate will be an experienced leader who is enthusiastic to provide mentorship and hands-on support to their team. We are looking for someone with a post-secondary education in a related field and at least five years of marketing experience.
Main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Leading all marketing projects and campaigns from inception to execution
- Direct supervision, training, and mentorship of the Marketing team
- Leading all branding and packaging work from artwork through to final printing
- Managing in-house and external design development, concept, and implementation
- Representing Fernie Brewing Co. with external partners and key accounts
- Overseeing public relations including liaising with press and approving newsletters, press releases, and blogs
- Ensuring internal and external brand consistency for both existing and new products
- Providing marketing support to the Tasting Room as required including signage and merchandise design
- Assisting with social media including content creation, proofreading, and editing as needed
- Participating in product planning and launches with other managers
- Overseeing website maintenance and enhancements
- Registering trademarks and logos
- Managing provincial liquor board listings
- Assisting with coordination and planning of FBC’s bi-annual Sales conferences
- Other duties as assigned that align with the role of Marketing Manager
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Design or related discipline
- 5+ years of professional experience in a marketing role
- 3+ years leadership experience with direct reports
- Experience in marketing/design in the craft beer, alcoholic beverage, or consumer packaged goods sector considered a strong asset
- Experience running marketing and promotional campaigns and projects
- Hands-on graphic design experience considered a strong asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on proofreading, grammar, and content creation
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and Adobe Creative Suite
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work with minimal supervision
- Experience editing and creating content in WordPress and across social media channels is a must
- Solid knowledge of SEO and targeted marketing required
- Strong time management and attention to detail
- Must have an interest in the craft beer industry
This is a full-time, permanent management role and is approximately 40 hours per week Monday-Friday during business hours. We offer a competitive compensation package, including dental, medical and lifestyle benefits, as well as great perks such as a merchandise allowance.
